THE CHALLENGE
Implemented ERP that was not fit for purpose, unable to meet current or future business needs.

Talga is a ASX listed fully integrated producer of lithium-ion battery anode products, technologies, and industrial graphene additives. The company currently operates across several international jurisdictions and is developing a natural graphite anode facility in Sweden to produce ultra-low emission coated active anode for greener lithium-ion batteries.
Following the implementation of SAP S4/HANA, Talga felt that the system was not delivering the benefits expected. Limited user knowledge and the absence of training materials posed several operational challenges to the business.
Users were unclear on how to navigate or utilise system functionality effectively, resulting in inconsistent practices. A lack of documented guidance made onboarding and upskilling new staff difficult, perpetuating inefficiencies and increasing the risk of non-compliance with procurement and financial controls.
GSQUARE INVOLVEMENT
Talga’s priority was ensuring that SAP S/4HANA was ready to support the financial management of the full life cycle of the group’s operations.
Gsquare carried out an initial QA review of the implemented solution, providing detailed recommendations for short term business improvement along with a roadmap of future required future developments aligned with the organisations business strategy/life cycle.
Gsquare assisted in the development of the business case to provide a fully fit for purpose solution that meet the current business requirements as well as laying the foundations for future growth/development.
Following business case approval, gsquare provided the project management, technical and functional resources that completed the business analysis, design, system configuration, roll out and training of all improvements.
Gsquare provided ongoing Managed Services post the implementation to support the solution.
KEY OUTCOMES
A fit for purpose ERP meeting current needs and positioned to meet future growth and needs.
Resolving the system limitations and operational gaps, Talga has significantly enhanced its enterprise-wide efficiency, visibility, and control. An ERP system, aligned to the organisation’s business structure and reporting needs, has enabled accurate, timely, and automated financial and operational processes. Through establishing a robust enterprise structure (Chart of Accounts, Profit Centres, Cost Centres, etc.) streamlining of transaction execution has occurred, reducing manual activities and more timely and reliable management reporting have been achieved.
Improving user training, documentation, and system knowledge has empowered staff to use the platform effectively. Talga now have a fully functional procure-to-pay (P2P) process embedded in the system, achieving greater control over procurement, faster invoice processing, and improved compliance with procurement policies.
Overall system improvements have strengthened governance, enhanced decision-making through real-time insights, and ensure the system is scalable to support future business growth.

TESTIMONIAL
“The Gsquare team provided Talga with resources with operational experience at all levels (C-level , Business/Operational, & Technical/Functional). Irrespective of where the system was at, Gsquare was able to explain what the system was meant to do & how it was meant to be used, with the ability to reflect this upon real world situations and then to the Talga business.
Anyone can configure SAP, but configuring it to be used correctly, how it was intended, and how our business should properly use it was the difference between gsquare and other partners.”
